SRC goes 24h

Another 24-hour event is coming up and the SimRaceCommunity has finally managed to get its name on the grid again. The 24h Nordschleife will be held at Virtual Racing and we will be competing with 3 community cars. So this time, drivers who actually fight each other on the track are working together.

The first is a Clio CUP car in WUD design. The pilots: Andreas Walter, Alex Gaedicke, Daniel Kalippke, Stefan Daenecke, Markus Smetaczek. Andreas Hering supports here as a spotter. The boys will certainly have a lot of fun chugging around the loop in the lame cucumber. You might think so… Because the car has no power reserves anyway, every mistake here is punished with a considerable loss of time.

In second place, things get a little more nostalgic. Another typical classic racing car: BMW e36. And the line-up was more than a matter of course, right from the start. Jan Titz, Dustin Levie, Michael Marquardt and Matthias Weber pilot the old rear-wheel drive through hell. We can expect a lot. The guys are fast and are up for classics. The very last little screw on the setup has certainly been tightened, with the torque set to the nearest tenth.

The third in the group is the Porsche GT3-R. The drivers are Thomas Batzke, Karsten Hoffmann, Frank Phlipsen, Michael Welle and the ace up their sleeve, Roland Niemann. The Porsche is not a new venture for the Vortex-inspired crew. Our boss, Michael Welle, was obviously allowed to buy in and let’s be honest, we’ve all wanted to see our commentator at a 24-hour race! Today is the time. So the course has been set here too, the stint times have been calculated to the second and the driver planning has been finalized.

For my part, I wish all the participants a lot of fun and, of course, good luck to our boys in their mighty endeavor to make the top people from VR sweat. Of course, I hope for fair fights and tickling strategy poker.
